Once upon a time, there were two men living in a village—one rich and the other poor. Despite residing in the same village, their outlook on life differed vastly. The poor man was always grateful, finding contentment in whatever little he had, while the rich man, though wealthy, was never truly happy.
One day, as the rich man passed by the poor man's humble abode, he noticed him laughing and asked mockingly, "What do you have that I don't? I have money, wealth, and fame. What do you possess?" To which the poor man replied with a smile, "All that I have is by the grace of God, and I am thankful for the simplicity of my life. I consider myself fortunate."
The rich man, on the other hand, was troubled by the fact that he had no children. Despite his wealth, he constantly worried about who would inherit his riches. He sought solace in his wealth, neglecting the true essence of life.
As time passed, the rich man's worries turned into illness, and he sought the help of numerous doctors, but to no avail. Feeling desperate, he visited the poor man's house once again, only to find him still cheerful despite his own hardships.
Curious, the rich man inquired about the poor man's well-being, and to his surprise, the poor man revealed that he had heard of the rich man's illness. Concerned, the poor man advised him, "True wealth lies in giving to others. If you wish to find peace and health, give away your wealth to those in need."
Initially skeptical, the rich man eventually heeded the advice. He distributed his wealth among the poor, keeping only what was necessary for his own sustenance. In doing so, he found peace and his illness miraculously disappeared.
In the end, the rich man realized that true happiness comes from giving and being grateful for life's blessings, no matter how small they may seem. And the poor man continued to live a humble yet fulfilling life, always grateful for the blessings bestowed upon him by the Almighty.
